Suitcase Show

Join us this Friday for the opening reception of “The Suitcase Show: Selections from Drawing Parties (2005-2008).” Organized by Greg Antrim Kelly, the show features drawings by many local artists made over the year at assorted drawing parties.

The opening reception runs from 5:00-7:00pm. An acoustic show by The Hill and Wood begins at 7:00pm. To view the show throughout the month, contact Greg Antrim Kelly at 434.242.0905. More on The Suitcase Show below…

“All Artists are alike. They dream of doing something that’s more
social, more collaborative, and more real than art.”

Over the past three years a number of us have gathered periodically to draw.

At kitchen tables, in basement studios, on countertops, floors, porches, stray napkins at the bar, and elsewhere.

‘Partiers’ have included:  John Bylander, Allyson Mellberg, Max Fenton, Patrick Costello, Jeremy Taylor, Johanna Drucker, Kristin Adolfson, Dave Moore, Greg Antrim Kelly, James Ford, Erik Carter, Sarah Lawson, Eliza Evans, and many (many) more

Hundreds of collaborative and unsigned works have been produced, collected and until now rested quietly in the plaid flanked shadows of a suitcase. (Nod to The Royal Art Lodge)
