Wednesday, May 26th, 2010Flux
Monday, May 3rd, 2010The Garage’s May instillation is by Richmond based artist, Sean Kelly. “Flux” is born out of a desire to visualize a personal sense of indeterminacy. Through the work, Sean strives to oscillate between the invitation of chaos and the establishment of order - a terrifying yet essential process for growth - while exploring the lines between the self and the other; the mind and the body; and one’s perception and an ‘objective’ sense of reality. Due to the large number of art exhibits tomorrow we’ll be extending our hours until 9:30PM.
Small Sur
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010A long time favorite of ours, Baltimore based Small Sur creates ethereal indie/folk - “songs that are as close as we city-dwellers can get to the feeling of a strong harvest, songs you have to experience with your bare hands, pulling them out of the ground and shaking the soil off them” (Tiny Mix Tapes). On top of that the forecast for tonight is sunny and in the high-60’s. We highly suggest coming out for this one. Local singer/songwriter Chris Campanelli opens (suggested donation $5).
