Freedom in Creation: Art Viewing and Talk
Sunday, September 28th
Exhibition viewing begins at 6:30pm. The talk begins at 7:30pm.

Freedom in Creation is an arts-advocacy project aimed at educating the international community while empowering former child soldiers in northern Uganda. Join us this Sunday, September 28th in the Garage to view artwork created by former child soldiers and hear a talk exploring art, humanitarian action, and faith by the organization’s founder, Andrew Briggs.

Here’s more on Freedom in Creation if you are interested in learning more.

One of the main goals of Freedom in Creation is to help the children who were abducted and forced to become child soldiers to re-enter society. These children are largely stigmatized by society and not let back into their communities because of their real or perceived crimes. Freedom in Creation aims to help these children heal through art classes as well as bringing the life-giving gift of a well to their poor communities that could never afford one themselves. Money raised from the sale of the arts by these former child soldiers as well as donations from the U.S. and others funds the wells.
